Child Crafts
If you've got kids, then you're going to know exactly how bad
rainy days are when there's simply "nothing to do"! You can
normally find them lying blissfully in front of the TV or games
machine not caring about how much rainy day crafts they are missing
out on!
However, they sometimes even get bored of the 21st century
gadgetry and start to become really annoying by distracting you
from what you're trying to do. It's always an uphill struggle
trying to actually find something for them to which is not going to
last the best part of 5 minutes!
If you've got more than one child as well, then
instead of adding to the problem... it multiplies it! Seriously, 3
children on a rainy day with nothing to do is almost a ticket for a
nervous breakdown in itself! You've almost got to tie them down and
tell them to do something like read a book or even help you around
the house.
No matter what other parents tell you, this is
always going to be a problem with "bored children" on rainy days
and there are always going to be new and diverse solutions for it.
However, one of the most tested and functional solutions there is
for bored children on rainy days is Child Crafts.
Rainy day Child crafts is one of the biggest
methods of getting your kids "back to earth" on rainy days, by
giving them a fun "challenge", exercising their brain which would
otherwise be turning to mush from doing nothing at all (well
almost)!
Child Crafts give children something to do which
isn't only always packed full of new and interesting things, but it
also gives them something to show for it when they've finished!
I've lost count of the number of times I've seen a child face
literally light up after piecing together what they've done to
reveal the child crafts they'd been working on for a whole 2
hours!
You want to know the best thing about child
crafts is? If you think you can trust your children enough, then
you can simply just leave them to it! You might have to give them
some "inspiration" and ideas but once you get them started on
something you can guarantee the next time you see them, they will
either have a nice child craft gift for you or want to ask you a
question about the child crafts!
Child Crafts are so much fun for the children on
a rainy day that it's so easy to just forget about them! Seriously,
I entirely recommend giving your children a go at child crafts when
they are bored on a rainy day... Trust me, you will never look
back!
Child Crafts needn't be so expensive, either! You
can probably pick up almost all of the materials you need for rainy
day crafts at your local WalMart or another big store. Basically,
you can pick from a whole bunch of child crafts for your children
to do.
So, what can you give your children as child
crafts? How do you fill your children with creativity and
enthusiasm about the child craft you have given them!?
Well, there is a simple set of rules I
use for Child Crafts:
1) Give them something you know they
will enjoy: Give your child crafts
something that you know will be exciting and interesting to them.
I.E if they are boys, don't suggest they do needlework since they
will probably just think it's a girls thing or
something!
2) Give them a challenge to complete: Give your
child crafts something that will not only stretch their creative
intuition to the "max" but be sure to make their child craft last
them hours if you don't want them to pester you. For example, don't
ask them to make one card - ask them to make one for each of your
pets and they friends or something
3) Make sure they don't get bored: Keep checking
your Child Crafts every once in a while to make sure they're doing
OK and most importantly... NOT GETTING BORED! The first signs of
boredness will be either the child fiddling around with different
things or making a mess of what they are doing. In essence, a loss
of concentration is what needs to be averted.
Child Crafts are there to prevent your child from
getting bored on a rainy day. It makes them more active,
enthusiastic and cultured to name but a few benefits. Child crafts
are simply a god-send sometimes, as it calms the children down so
much!
Just keep to the three points that I outlined
above and your child crafts should be fine. Remember to keep them
motivated and challenged in order for them to not get bored of what
they are doing, to keep them enthusiastic about what they are doing
- to make sure their 100% effort goes into the child crafts.
Of course, child crafts are not for everyone and
some children will simply stick their noses up at the idea of rainy
day crafts. If you have never tried child crafts with your children
yet, then I strongly suggest you at least try it! It can either be
a failure or success - nothing in between. Your children will not
think of you in a different light for trying it at least.
